This interesting composition is a creation of Kholui Artist Vagin.
The box shows us a flock of Bullfinches sitting on a branch of a tree.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the outside and red lacquer is used to paint the inside of the box. The artist uses gold paints to decorate the box with scrollwork.
The box is not hinged and rests on a flat bottom. The artist writes the title, Kholui, and signs his name on the bottom of the box.
