Kholui artist Kharchev painted this perspective of the Moscow Kremlin that is Russia's stronghold and spiritual hub.
The palette is filled with light grey and blue tones. Brilliant gold paint is used to paint the cupolas of the cathedrals, and to create a sparkle of the snow.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The exterior is decorated with intricate gold patterns. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Kholui, the title ("Moscow").
