This picturesque view of the St.Basil's Cathedral has been created by Vladimir Kiselyov. The scene painted in a very passionate manner, and shows a unique painting style of the Kholui artist. The palette is very bold, and filled with a wide spectrum of various colors and tones. Bright gold paint abundantly details the architecture and the surrounding landscape.
The scene is framed with a simple pattern composed of gold and silver beads. The box's sides are adorned with a more complex ornamentation composed of neatly painted gold and silver snowflakes.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged to the left of the scene, and the box rests on four rounded feet. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title and the village of Kholui.
