This interesting, turtle shaped box is a creation of Evseyeva from the village of Kholui. The work is called “Forest World”, and shows jungles and various animals that inhabit its thickets. In the center of the composition Evseyeva has painted a mother panda with its cub while along the lid's edges she has drawn some other animals that live in jungles.
The color palette ranges from cold blues and greens to warm browns and oranges. Every animal is painted to look how it would in nature. The details are enhanced with gold metal paint.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box's exterior is decorated with elegant gold ornaments accented with aluminum and green tempera pains. The lid is hinged. The work is signed with the artist's name, the village of Kholui, and the title (“Forest World”).
