Description:

This small rectangular box is a creation of Vladimir Kiselyov from the village of Kholui. Kiselyov loves his village very much, and demonstrates his affection towards the place where he lives on this attractive box. The work is called “Spring Overflow in Kholui”, and shows the beautiful moment when Teza River overflows its banks, and the small Russian village becomes very picturesque.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The scene is framed with gold beads, while the box's sides are adorned with elaborate gold leafy pattern. The lid isn't hinged, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, the village of Kholui, the year of 2002, the title and the confirmation that this work is Kiselyov's own original creation on the lid's interior.
