This gorgeous composition has been painted by the talented artist Julie Popova of Kholui. The box is called "Love Potion" and shows a fantasy scene when the witch is preparing her potion. This scene is originally painted, and reveals the artist's peculiar style. Highly original and poetic in it's creativity.
The palette is filled with different shades of browns. The scene is framed with beautiful gold filigree.
The box is made out of paper-mache, and covered with black lacquer.The hinge is located at the top of the composition. The artist has written that this is, "an original work, " along with his name, the village name of Kholuy, the title ("Love Potion") and the year of 1993 on the backside of the box in gold paint. There is the statement informing that the box has been made by means of unique technology using natural pigments prepared under the traditions of old Masters.
