Aleona Gurileova of Kholui is the artist who painted this charming box.
This box is quit simple, but very attractive. The palette the artist uses is based on warm colors: green, yellow with addition of gold paints.
Here the artist has depicted a village girl and a lad who went fishing , but when the sun came down, they start the game of love. As they are busy with each other, the cat is trying to sneak the fish from a buckle (on the right) and the dog is triying to sneak some food(to the right). On the background we can see wooden houses of the village and a small church.
The box is constructed from paper-mache made. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while a red lacquer completes the interior of the work. A hinge has been fastened to the top of the composition and the box rests on four legs.
The artist has singed the box with his name, the title, the village name of Kholui at the bottom of the composition.
