IMPORTANT NOTE: this box is currently displayed on Expo in the All-Russia Museum of Folk and Applied art in Moscow devoted to the 80th anniversary of Kholui Art. The Expo was opened on the 12th of November and will take a place till the 6th of December 2014.
Well-known artist Mikhail Komarov from the village of Kholui created this interesting landscape scene. It features a fly of the ducks over the river.
Countryside didn't expect the Winter so fast. The part of river with a slow flow is already iced, the biggest part of the river is still pushing the water down...

The landscape scene is painted in bright tones of white and silver colors suitable for the winter scene. The scene is painted in realistic style which reminds Fedoskino school, but it is painted in tempera colors.
The box's exterior is covered with black lacquer, while the interior is traditionally red.It is constructed from paper-mache. A hinge is fastened to the top of the scene, and the box rests on legs. Signed and titled by the artist.
