Talented artist Dobrin Yevgeniy from the village of Kholui has painted this scene with a Flying Carpet.
It features an episode from the fairy-tale "Ivan Tsarevich and the Firebird".
Here we can see Ivan Tsarevich flying on the magic carpet with Princess Elena. In his hand he is holding a cage with the Firebird in it. He intends to fulfill the last errand given him by the old tsar; he must find the beautiful Princess Elena, and bring her to the tsar.
Gold paint is used to detail the characters' costumes, Fire Bird, the skies and the Carpet.
The scene is framed with a golden dot ornament, while edges of the lid are decorated with rich and intricate pattern. The box's sides are decorated with golden ornament with an add of silver paint.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged to the top of the composition, and the box rests on the four legs.
The work is signed with the artist's name, 2017, title and the village of Kholui.
Inside the lid, Dobrin has again provided the title, the year, and his name, as well as an indication that this is an original work. He also has left his signature.
