Description:

The Lizunovs from the village of Mstera, combined their talents in order to create this profound presentation of genuine Russian artistry. It shows a fragment from the ancient Russian legend "Mikula Selyaninovich and Volga". It tells about the strong hero, Mikula Selyaninovich, who is one of the most popular bogatyrs in Russia, the ploughman, and the embodiment of hard-working Russian people. The strongest of Russian bogatyrs, Svyatogor, couldn't lift the bag filled with the Earth's heaviness dropped out of Mikula's hands. Prince-Werewolf, Volga, together with his army, also couldn't surpass Mikula in strength. They all couldn't lift Mikula's plough.
. The artists use a palette of paint that shows a great variety in tones. Gold paint is used to paint the chain amour of Volga and his warriors, and also to paint the bridle of Mikula's steed depicted in the foreground. The composition is skillfully painted with a lot of details, it will be a perfect addition to any collection!
The composition is framed with beautiful gold and aluminum floral patterns. The sides of the box are also adorned with elegant gold and aluminum ornamentation.
The box is made of high-quality paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition. The box rests on a small platform. The box is signed with the artists' names, the village of Mstera, and the title ("Mikula Selyaninovich and Volga").
