Description: This Easter Egg was created by well-known Mstera artist Mikhail Strunin. One of its sides features the Assumption Cathedral situated in the Red Square. It was built in 1472 as the principal church of the Russian state to host official ceremonies and rites of national significance including designations of grand dukes and coronations of tsars.
The opposite side of the egg shows another legendary building, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. This magnificent building is located in the center of Moscow, not far from the Kremlin. It was constructed on a vow given by sovereign Alexander I in gratitude for saving fatherland "from the Gauls invasion". On December 5, 1931 the temple was blown up. Subsequently the foundation ditch was used for the construction of swimming - pool " Moscow ". In 1994 the pool was closed. On January 1995, the solemn laying of the revived temple took place. Now the construction is completed. The temple has an active museum where excursions are held and the viewing platform is arranged.
Next side shows the icon of the Blessed Virgin with the Child whereas its opposite side features the icon of Jesus Christ.
The scenes are painted in different tempera paints, and detailed with gold paints. The egg rests on the pedestal decorated with complex patterns painted in gold and tempera paints. An Egg is made out of wood. It is signed, titled, and dated (2005) by the artist.
