This small shining box is a creation of the famous Mstera artist, Olga Strunina, who is the daughter of the prominent Mstera artist, Lev Fomichyov. It shows a fragile ballet dancer dancing in the blooming garden. The ballet dancer is painted in light oils against the bright golden sparkling background.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The box's exterior is decorated with simple gold ornaments. The work is signed with the name of the artist, Mstera, the title ("Ballet Dancer") and the year of 2005.
