Oskina Nataliya from the village of Mstera is the author of this nice, small box.
In the center of the box's lid the artist has painted a basket full of mushrooms. The bird and a Squirrel are sit on a basket. Squirrel holding forest Nuts. Different kinds of berries are painted around the basket skillfully in soft tempera paints and neatly detailed in gold. The edges of the lid are adorned with intricate scroll work painted in gold .
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Mstera, the title ("Gifts of an Autumn").
