This attractive piece was created by Natalie Belova of Mstera. This artist specializes in ornamental and floral compositions while using soft tones with realistic floral colors. Skill and obvious knowledge are all attributes found in her works.
The box is elegantly designed. In the center there is a bouquet of wild flowers painted against yellow cream background. The flowers are painted in soft tempera paints and richly detailed with gold paints. This scene is framed with an intricate gold floral pattern. More complex patterns dominated by large beautiful daisies decorate the edges of the lid. The artist does not limit himself to decorating only the lid. She creates equally intricate and charming floral decorations in gold paint around the sides of the box.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The artist wrote in gold her name, Mstera, and the name of the work: "Honey Summer".
