This colorful and lovable piece by popular Mstera artist Daniil Molodkin continues his original theme depicting miniature people of a mythical world. Here he depicts a sleepwalker who has been strolling about under the cold moon till he run against a cow. It isn't an ordinary cow, it is the magic cow inside which the girl lives. The moonwalker sleeps and sees in his dream a beautiful girl who is going to kiss him. He moves towards her, expecting to receive her kiss, and he doesn't know that not a girl, but the cow is going to kiss him.
The palette is based on the beautiful combinations of red, green and blue tones. Excellent detailing and gold highlighting provide flourish and texture to the scene. Gold stars, fantastic plants sparkle magically against the green background.
The scene is framed by a line of gold paint, the edges of the lid and the box's sides are decorated with elegant gold ornamentation.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge has been fastened to the top of the composition, and the box sits on a small platform. The artist's signature, village and title ("Sleep Walker") can be found right underneath of composition.
