Description:

Many artists within a variety of artistic mediums strive for a singular beauty within their paintings. Mstera master Vladimir Molodkin has achieved that of coveted beauty within compositions such as this. The example can be such a magical thing.
Vladimir Molodkin has always been at the very front of the creative movement in Mstera that is getting into blending regular everyday scenes with surreal ideas, such as imaginative landscapes and mythological characters. This inventiveness has rubbed off on his children Daniil and Denis, who are also top Mstera artists.
This work is called "Indian Summer", and features the peasants enjoying the wonderful state of nature when the warmth of summer suddenly returns during the middle of autumn. It's a very beautiful period when the trees covered with gold and bright red foliage seem to shine illuminated by the bright sunrays. The Russians call this period "Babye Leto", that can be translated into English as "the summer of woman".
The palette relies on soft and cool colors to fill in the structure of the composition. The artist uses gold and aluminum paints in subtle amounts to enhance the detailing in the clothing, landscape, and add some flair to the scene. This only works to make the already great depth, compositional flow, and colors that much more aesthetic in the overall distribution of visual brilliance in the scene.
On the lid gold ornamentation frames the composition that opens up into a tempera painted floral design at each top corner, and at the bottom of the scene. Gold and aluminum ornamentation runs along the sides of the box as well.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while a brilliant red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened to the left of the composition. The box rests on four legs. The work is signed, and titled by the artist at the bottom of the composition.
