Description: Artistic brilliance. This animated elegance was composed by famous Mstera master Vladimir Molodkin. Passionate colors that breath life into the canvas. A composition rich in traditional as well as aesthetic beauty. Dynamic creativity developed from within the imagination of a compassionate artist.
The work is called "Autumn Rainbow", and depicts a scene from peasant life. Autumn has come into the village, and the peasants have busied themselves with activity that corresponds to the chosen season. Autumn is the time of haymaking, and the peasant depicted in the center carts hay. Another autumn activity is shown in the right bottom corner. Here we can see the peasant digging out potatoes. Autumn is also the time of gathering mushrooms and berries; the figure of the girl depicted in the center proves this fact. But the sun is still shining brightly, and the sparkling rainbow rises over the ground.
It is hard to imagine a color treatment with much more variety and flare than that of the one before you. The scene is painted with soft pastels that are extremely soothing. Combined with the vast richness of detail, a stunning result.
There is ample depth and expression within the composition. The close-ups are close and the distance is far. It takes great talent to complete this type of work.
The texture in the ripples of the water and within the leaves of the trees is exquisite. A wide variety of greens and blues, which intermingle with lavender, awaken the fantasy of the scene. Golden and aluminum contours outline portions of the designs on the character's clothes, the plants and the leaves of several of the trees.
Gold and aluminum foliage pattern frame the scene while the box's sides are decorated with intricate gold and aluminum floral pattern.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while a brilliant red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge is fastened to the top of the composition for ease of opening. The box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed, and titled by the artist at the bottom of the composition.
