Description:

This interesting work has been painted by Vladimir Moshkovich from the village of Mstera. It is called "Five Senses of a Human Being", and shows fives scenes painted on this theme. The scene painted in the upper left corner is called "Sense of Smell". Here we can see the lad and the girl sitting on the bench in the park. The lad holds the bouquet, and offers the girl to smell the most beautiful flower. The scene painted in the upper right corner is called "Vision", and shows the lad holding the mirror and the girl looking at her reflection in the mirror. In the left bottom corner there is a scene called "Taste" that depicts the lad and the girl strolling in the forest and eating berries. The scene drawn in the bottom right corner is called "Hearing", and features the lad playing the accordion and the girl singing a song. The scene painted in the center is set into a rhomb. It is called "Sense of Touch", and shows the lad embracing the girl.
The characters are painted in the shades of pink, red, brown, yellow and green tones against the beautiful, bright turquoise background.
The composition is framed with a gold line. The edges of the lid are decorated with intricate floral patterns painted in gold and aluminum paints. The similar floral ornamentation can be found wrapping the box's sides but it is bigger in size.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box and red lacquer for the interior. The box has a hinge located to the top of the composition and rests on four round legs. The work is signed and titled by the artist.
