Description: Renown Mstera master Danil Molodkin is the author of this interesting work. His grassmen theme is a favorite with all types of collectors. While many artists are reproducing older works, others like Daniil are paving the way for other artists, and creating works that will be reproduced in the future.
The work is called “The Unhappiest Dwarf”. Here Molodkin has painted the dwarf who sits in his house arranged inside the stub, and enjoys his treasures. He doesn't have any friends, and he seldom goes out. He is the unhappiest dwarf in the world.
A wide spectrum of colors, tones, and hues are used to paint this scene. Molodkin varies the tonality of earthones like brown and green to create diverse nature setting based within a world of fantasy. Gold paint is used to outline and highlight key areas in the composition.
The scene is framed with a thin gold line. The edges of the lid and the box's sides are adorned with Molodkin signature style gold leafy patterns. On the box's sides these patterns are bigger in size and accented with silver paint.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Mstera, and the title.
