Description: This sumptuous work is a creation of Nikolay Molodkin who is the youngest Artist in renowned Mstera family of lacquer miniature Artists-the Molodkins Family. Nikolay has a recognizable painting style that is so highly estimated by collectors of lacquer miniature boxes all over the world, especially in the last 3-4 years.
With extreme intricacy and sensitivity an Artist depicts here some scenes from "Lord of the Rings", an epic high fantasy novel written by philologist J.R.R. Tolkien.
The composition looks very unusual, because there are three main circles, which are connected in the middle with the figure of the rider. The composition was painted with perspective effect. Each character has his individual look and painted with a great accuracy! Almost each detail is enhanced with brilliant gold paint!
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The exterior is decorated with elegant gold patterns. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on four legs.
The work is signed with the artist's name, the title "Hobbit (or Going back-and-forth)", the year of 2010 and the village of Mstera.
