The famous Mstera artist, Daniil Molodkin, is the author of this interesting box. Daniil decided to continue a series of Seasons compositions depicted with a girl.
Daniil is a master of painting fantastic scenes, and each of his unique boxes shows a whimsical world invented in the creative mind of this talented artist. Here Daniil depicts the allegory of Winter. He imagines winter as the young beautiful, red-haired woman dressed in the sarafan decorated with winter elements. Snowmen are all over the composition, one of them is playing with a girl in chess.
The palette contains vivid, beautifully combined colors, but as it is suppose to be in Winter-the predominant palette is white and blue.
The scene is framed with a very thin gold line. The edges of the lid are adorned with rich gold leafy patterns. The same gold leafy patterns only bigger in size can be found wrapping around the box's sides, each of this sides also has a little round painting having a snowman in it.

The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to complete the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. The lid is hinged at the top and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, Mstera and the title "Winter" and a date of 2011.
