Description: This exceptional composition was created by Mstera favorite Daniil Molodkin. His works are always notable for fantastic representation of different subjects and bright, multicolored coloring. Here the artist has chose a theme of classical tale of J.R.R.Tolkien "Lord of the Rings".
The work is called "Festival in the town of Shear" and showing a Smaug dragon over the town and holiday itself.
The scene is painted in bright, bold tones. Green, blue and yellow tones dominate here. Gold paint details the plants and the hobbit's costumes. The holiday procession painted in a very original way and can attract the viewer's attention at first sigh. The landscape and the hobbit's costume are splendidly detailed.
The composition is framed by a line of gold paint, whereas the box's sides are decorated with Molodkin's typical gold filigree.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge has been fastened to the left of the composition, and the box rests on four legs. The artist signature, the village of Mstera and title ("Festival in the town of Shear") can be found right underneath of composition. This is a festive piece by a well-known and talented artist!
