This charming piece was created by today's leading Mstera artist Natalie Oskina. Oskina was studied under E.N Zonina, Philippov and Zhigalov.She is a specialist in floral compositions using the tempera art technique and gold paints in her art work. Oskina's miniatures differ from others because of her thin gold scroll work and by the fine technique of execution. The artist believes that his compassionate style is easy to remember due to its detailed painting, themes, colors, paints, and overall quality of her compositions!
The work is called "Flower Melody". It is painted in subdued purple, red and green tones and richly detailed with gold paints. The lid is decorated with beautiful gold floral patterns dominated by a blossom of rose in each corner. Intricate gold ornamentation with a large flower in the middle also wraps around the box's sides.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on four rounded legs. Signed with the name of the artist, the village of Mstera and the title on the exterior's bottom.
