The box shows a scene from the Russian classic tale “The Princess Frog”. Here we can see one of Ivan's older brothers who have carried the beautiful bride into the palace. The scene is an absolute delight. The details within the scene are enhanced tremendously by the golden and aluminum contours illuminating each and every inch of the moment composed. Lavish colors and intricate designs patterned upon the clothes of the characters are something to behold. The clarity within the scene is also very impressive. This box is very beautiful.
The scene is framed with gold beads; the box's sides are decorated with gold floral patterns accented with aluminum.
The box is constructed out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests on four legs. Signed with the artist's name, Palekh, the title and the year of 2007.
