This very detailed Palekh brooch is a creation of Yugeniy Myznikov. Yugeniy was born in 1959. He comes from the family of artists. He is the son of known Palekh artis Gennady Myznikov. During 1974-1979 he studied in the Palekh Art School. His favorite scenes to depict are folklore and genre scenes.
The brooch features a scene from the popular Russian story entitled, "Fire-bird". On the brooch the artist has painted Ivan holding a feather of a Fire-bird in his hand.
The brooch is made of paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the brooch. The work is signed with the name of the artist, and the village of Palekh and a year of 1998.
