Description: This real life composition has been painted by a family tandem of the
Terentievs, Sergey and Olga.
It features village family making a snowman from a fresh sticky snow. Kids and adults are dressed up in the typical winter clothes, fur coats. Their faces became a bit rose after being for a while at the winter open air. A girl, trying to make a snowman more attractive, put a bright red carrot instead of a nose. Snow man has a bucket on his head as a hat. The surrounding winter landscape is painted in white, bright blue and gray tones. And we can see forest trees covered with a snow on the background on the composition.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on the wavy platform with eight legs. The work is signed with the artists names and the village of Palekh.
