This exciting composition was created by the talented Brovkina Natalie from the village of Palekh.
Fantasy was the basis for the palette and it has been applied with a skilled hand. One of the important moments from tale entitled, "The Mermaid," has been depicted here. Here we can see a Prince, who looks through a telescope while several mermaids swim around his ship. The scene is expressive and aesthetically pleasing, both at the same time.
The scene is masterfully painted in Nataliya Brovkina's style. The colors are bright and radiant. Green, blue, yellow and red tones of tempera paints predominate here.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the piece while red lacquer completes the interior of the box. A hinge has been fastened to the top of the composition, and the box rests on a wavy platform with five legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Palekh and the title.
