Yevgeniy Zhiryakov is the established artist responsible for this elaborate piece. Bright turquoise, green, and red patches burn against the black smooth lacquer. If we look at the composition more attentively we'll notice that they are not patches, they are different figures. At this moment elves, mermaids, wide cats, paradise birds, wolfs, bears, and incomparably beautiful flowers appear before our eyes. A lad and a girl sleep surrounded by these fantastic figures. Judging from the work's title "Dream on the Field covered with Flowers", these figures and creatures are the products of lad's and girl's fantasies. They are sleeping and dreaming about the fantastic world filled with all these figures and creatures.
There are a great many things happening with this piece, yet there aren't any confrontations between harmony and confusion. Additions of gold and aluminum highlights fully contour the entire composition. Not only does this bring out the colors in the palette, but it enhances perspective and builds texture. The character's clothing contains this feature most majestically. Everything shines in this highly animated find. A treasure from beginning to end.
At the bottom of the composition, in the middle there is the following poetry written in gold paints:

If drowsiness closes my eyes,
And reality melts in the mist,
Suddenly something wondrous comes,
As here on the field covered with flowers...

To the right from this poetry the artist writes in gold paints that this painting and poetry is the artist's original creation; she also writes here the village of Palekh, and the year of 1999. To the left from this poetry there is the title of the work also written in gold pains.
Beautiful, and very elaborate gold floral patterns highlighted with silver paints are used to decorate the edges of the lid and the box's sides.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box has a hinge above the composition and rests on four legs.
