This traditional Palekh Troyka composition was painted by a well-known artist Bakhirev Arcadiy Sergeevich (1927-1999). The artist has been studied in Palekh Art School in 1944-1949.
Gold beads decorate the edges of the lid. The sides of the box are adorned with beautiful gold floral ornamentation.
The box is made out of paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The lid is hinged at the top of the scene, and the box rests on flat bottom. It is signed with the name of the artist, the village of Palekh, and a year.
The box is in a very good condition for this year!
