This colorful set of nesting dolls painted on winter theme was made in Sergiev Posad. It includes five dolls made out of wood. The dolls show the mother, her children and the winter landscape. The first and the biggest doll shows the mother and her children making a snowman. Behind them extends the detailed winter landscape. The second doll features the mother and her daughter looking at a bird in the forest whereas the third one shows the mother and her son looking at a bird in the forest. The fourth and the fifth ones show the mother and the winter landscape. To paint this work the artist has used a rich palette of colors, but blue and dark crimson tones dominate here. It is very well painted with a lot of different details.
