This magnificent set of nesting dolls will satisfy the artistic tastes of any carping collector. It was painted by the famous artist Nadezhda Nepomnyashaya and includes ten dolls made out of wood. The similar work is pictured in the book "Russian Matryoshka" by Elena Fillipova. Each doll shows the mother and her children. The mother is traditionally dressed. She wears the light green shirt, the violet sarafan and the white apron. Her head is covered with the kerchief decorated with masterfully painted roses. The clothing of children is more diverse. They wear beautiful dresses, elegant suits, tracksuits and even the fisherman wear. The children are engaged in their hobbies. Some of them are depicted together with their pets: dogs, tortoises, cats; the others play musical instruments, catch fish, feed chicken, go shopping, play football and cook fried eggs. The characters' faces and their clothing are elaborately detailed. The works by Nepomnyashaya are recognizable owing to expressive faces of her characters, their big sad eyes, and this work isn't exception. Her works are also notable for poetry of image, exquisite style, beautiful coloring and detailed painting. The work is signed and dated (2005) by the artist.
