This beautiful summer landscape with cows pasturing on the sunny meadow is a creation of Natalya Gogina. The scene is painted in earth tones, and seems to be filled with sunlight. The tiniest details are rendered with great subtlety to make the scene come alive.
The box is made out of high quality paper-mache. Black lacquer covers the exterior and red lacquer covers the interior of the box. The box's sides imitate a tortoiseshell; the sides are also decorated with gold scan patterns (made of tiny shapes hand punched from gold metal sheets, and then glued to the box manually).The lid isn't hinged, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Fedoskino and the year of 2005.
