Description: This beautiful box painted by talented Alexander Mitusov shows the viewer how Moscow looked like in the beginning of the 19th century. Ramshackle wooden peasant houses are built not far from the Kremlin, the banks of the Moskva(or Moscow) river are covered with fresh vegetation, and there are no yet asphalted, gas-polluted roads and noisy cars...
The artist depicted beautiful view from the Uptown to Downtown area, and this view is going through snow-covered trees...
Blue tones of oils predominate here, which is in harmony of the depicted season. The scene and the box's sides are decorated with silver scan patterns(which is also done by hand). The box's exterior is painted in black lacquer. The interior is traditionally red.
The box is made out of paper-mache. The box has a hinge from the top of the scene, and rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino.
