This peaceful early autumn landscape has been painted by Pavel Sladkov. The winding river flows along the grassy banks. The trees and bushes covered with orange leaves look so beautiful!
To reproduce realistically a chosen season the artist has used orange and green oils. Almost invisible gold paint highlights the foliage of the trees. The scene is framed with gold beads.
Sladkov Pavel Pavlovich was born 1936 in the town of Mytishchi. In 1956 the artist graduated from the Fedoskino Art School. His teacher was V.I. Nebosklonov. His works were influenced by such prominent masters as Strakhov, Lipitsky and Chizhov. The artist has passed us away in 2012.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name.
