This elegant box is a creation of Margarita Belova who has a reputation of one of the popular contemporary Fedoskino artists. Most of all she likes to paint portraits, scenes from peasant life and romantic scenes.
The box shows a beautiful peasant girl with a gorgeous garland almost like a crown made of daisies, gathering raspberries in a sunny summer day!
The scene is painted in various shades of bright rose,green and blue oils. The costume of the character is very much detailed!
The oval painting, edges of the lid and the base of the box are decorated with a silver scan pattern (composed of scrolls hand punched from silver metal sheets, and then glued to the box manually).
The box's exterior is covered with blue color and dark blue viviens; the interior is traditionally red.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. The lid is hinged from the left of the scene; the box rests on a flat bottom. Signed with the artist's name,title- "Raspberry" and the village of Fedoskino. The small add "aut." in front of the name confirms that this box is original artist creation!
