This small richly decorated box is a creation of Svetlana Yevdokimova-Belovodova from the village of Fedoskino. The work is called "When the trees are blossoming...", and shows a young couple in love.The details are amazing! The faces are painted with photo-like quality!
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Light gray lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on four pearls glued to the box's exterior. The work is signed with the artist's name, the title and Fedoskino on the lid's interior.
