This very detailed box is the creation of talented Yelena Aldoshkina from the village of Fedoskino. Elena is wife of another famous Fedoskino Master, Yuriy Aldoshkin.
The box features the picturesque view of an old Moscow street.
It is winter time and the street is pretty narrow because of the snow.
The palette is filled with white and pale brown tones of oils that correspond to the color palette of winter. The domes of the cathedrals are covered with a snow too,so they are white. A piece of mother-of-pearl is shines through the skies and the part of the trees to the right.
Composition is framed with a gold line.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The box's sides are decorated with two parallel silver lines. The lid is hinged from the top of the composition, and the box rests on a flat bottom. The work is signed with the artist's name, date of 2009 and the village of Fedoskino on the interior side of the lid in gold paint and under the composition too.
