This artist has a peculiar style, and very often his boxes are originally shaped, that is why it is always easy to recognize his unique creations. This interesting installation has also a unique shape! The theme of this box is an epic high fantasy novel written by philologist J.R.R. Tolkien "The Lord of the Rings".
Like in most of his works, here the artist has created a multi-layered composition to get a three-dimensional effect.
The installation is constructed from paper-mache and epoxy rosin, painted by oils. The work is signed with the artist's name and the village of Fedoskino. The box's exterior is covered with white oils and decorated with gold ornamentation. Its interior is covered with light grey oils. The box's exterior bottom imitates the white marble (tiny light grey veins are scattered against the white background). The lid is hinged. The box is constructed from paper-mache.
