Baranov Yuriy Gennadievich was born on August 20, 1951 in the village of Makarikha, Ivanovo Region. Studied at the Palekh Art School in 1969-1974. His teachers were A.V. Borunov and A.V. Kovalyov.
He began exhibiting since 1990.
Worked in the Palekh studios of lacquer miniature painting since 1974.
Died in Palekh on May 30, 1999.
Works by Baranov Yu.G. are exhibited in the State Museum of Palekh Art.
