Kamardin Boris Ivanovich was born in 1956 in the town of Shuya, Ivanovo Region. At present he lives in the village of Palekh, Ivanovo Region.
In 1979 the artist finished the Palekh Art School. His teachers were Vikhrev E.N. and Gordeev A.V. The graduation project of Kamardin B.I. was the box entitled “Oleko Dundich”.
Works by Kamardin B.I. are kept in private collections of Europe and the USA.
Boris works in the Union of Palekh Artists. He paints his works in the traditions of Palekh lacquered miniature using tempera paints, gold and silver. Themes of his works are fairy-tales and bylinas. His favorite themes to depict are fairy-tales and architecture.
Artist thinks that every artist should make his work painstakingly and put his heart and soul into a miniature so as not to be ashamed of his artworks.
Before beginning to paint a new miniature he carefully studies all materials that will help him to express a chosen theme entirely. Considers his work to be finished when he likes a miniature and it is approved by the Artistic Council.
Boris uses in painting the tones that can help him to express a chosen theme.
The artist supposes that every artist paints his works in his own style and as regards his works he thinks that they are notable for peculiar painting technique.
Painting of Golikov I.I. and his relatives Myznikov G.M (B.I. Kamardin’s uncle) and Malakhov N.V. (B.I. Kamardin’s father-in-law) had a great influence on the artist’s creative work.
Boris is fond of tourism and cars.
