Ukolov Nikolay Nikolaevich was born on May 22, 1954 in the town of Vichuga of Ivanovo Region. Studied at the Palekh Art School in 1976-1981.
Worked in the Palekh studios of lacquer miniature painting in 1981-1989.
Works in the Creative and Industrial organization of the Artists' Union of the RSFSR "Palekh Association" since 1989.
Themes of A.P. Kondakova's works: literature, genre scenes, folklore.
Began exhibiting since 1988.
Participated in the creation of the iconostasis of the Ilya the Prophet Church in Palekh in 1991-1992 (see http://palekh.narod.ru/icons/iconilch.jpg). Themes of N.N. Ukolov's works are folklore, literature, religious themes.
Works by N.N. Ukolov are exhibited in the State Museum of Palekh Art, the All-Russia Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, the Plyos State History, Architecture and Art Museum-Preserve and the Art Fund of the Russian Federation.
